Challenge
Across the US only 15 to 27 percent of eligible voters cast a ballot in their local elections, compared to the average of roughly 60% participation for national elections. Propelled by these alarming statistics our group designed and prototyped a platform aimed at increasing local political engagement for Gen-Z and Millenials. Our challenge was creating a website that made it easy for users to find key election and candidate information in one platform.
Target Audience
Although low local political participation extends across all demographics, our team focused on a platform that could increase voter turnout in Gen-Z and Millenials.
